Granite

Granite is a tremendously strong versatile and durable natural stone, so many of the structures in which granite has been used over the centuries are still standing. Granite is an igneous rock that cooled at depth in the Earth’s crust with the slow cooling causing the main minerals of granite to grow to easily visible sizes. As such, granites come in a multitude of often-unexpected colours.

Devon Stone are able to offer granites and granite slabs in a number of finishes ranging from highly polished through to rough hewn bespoke pieces (to simulate a cliff face). Devon Stone are pleased to offer:

Galaxy Grey Granite

Galaxy grey granite is a light grey granite with scattered small to medium sized darker crystals (biotite). Again, a wear resistance 5 (of maximum 5) makes this an ideal granite for all internal and external use. Mix galaxy grey tiles with matching galaxy grey cobbles for your driveway.

Jasberg Granite

Originating from South Africa, Jasberg granite has a black background covered with light grey speckles. With a wear resistance of 5 (of 5), Jasberg granite is an ideal granite for all internal and external use.

Nero Absoluto Granite

Nero absoluto granite - (also known as Zimbabwe black and absolute black granite) has a black background with a very light scattering of dark grey flecks. Nero absoluto granite is considered to be one of the purest black granites. Again, a maximum wear resistance of 5.

Finishes: Polished granite, honed granite, granite slab, cut to size granite

Pepperino Dark Granite

A dark grey granite with occassional dark grey to black specks, Pepperino dark granite has a maximum wear resistance of 5 (ideal for all internals and external use). Pepperino dark is our choice for swimming pools with the range including off the shelf bull nosed pool copings.

Sunrise Granite

Sunrise granite is a light pink speckled with golden yellow veins granite. Sunrise granite has a maximum wear resistance of 5 (ideal for all internals and external use). Sunrise granite is also available in our new Stoneskin format (rock face cadding).
